A note from the editor:
I never joined the Peace Corps. I never sent my lunch money to the starving kids in China. I do love outrageously expensive shoes. All that being said, here’s what I know for sure.
I know that if I never added another thing, just the shoes in my closet, the roof over my head and the car in my driveway already put me in the top one percent of people on the planet in terms of material success.
I know that millions of people around the world suffer needlessly every day for lack of the casual things I take for granted: clean water, plentiful food, a convenient Walgreens and a reliable means to get there.
I know that if everyone I know were to put in just a little bit of effort, lots of those people would not need to live those kinds of desperate lives.
If Bono and Bill Gates were life partners and they asked Oprah to surrogate a child for them, maybe it would look something like this blog.

There was a story on the radio that the DTT research was flawed and was not the threat to the environment that the researcher claimed. Since stopping DTT to kill misquitos, malaria has risen. From only a few deaths per year we are now seeing thousands dying.

I just saw a news article last night about a web site beyondorders. A graduate student took a semester off from Harvard to start a network on line. Soldiers in Iraq post needs they have for local people they are working with and viewers meet the requests. Rather like the Christmas Tree Wish List that we usually see in churches….only on line! Amazing the connects they were able to achieve. Shoes, school supplies, hats for policemen so that they coudl be identified as helping people. They were also posting needs from hospitals. Check this out!
