Remember your brown bag school lunch? My mother always packed mine with a sandwich and an apple that ended up in the garbage. (Sorry, Mom!)

Brown bag lunches may be a great way to give your kids healthier food choices at school, but the brown bag part, especially with the plastic sandwich baggies, isn’t especially green.

The folks at I’m Organic have some really cute options for your eco-conscious student — how cute is this bag made out of 100% certified organic cotton?!

I’d be really interested to hear a real-life review on the sandwich wrap. I wonder how fresh it would keep the sandwich??? (Not like a paper towel that sucks the moisture out.)

The kids’ lunches are my big guilt issues. They’re not quite responsible enough yet to take reusable containers - we’re working on it, but not quite there. (We practice by using the same ziplock for chips or whatever all week.)

The mat looks like a pretty good idea, but I’d have to see it in person to assure myself that it is wipeable to my specs. I’m not saying that they are not on the right track, but somehow the design just seems to be lacking. On first glance, there’s no guarantee that it would stay wrapped tightly enough to contain the sandwich properly. Your article doesn’t say, but can you pop it into the washing machine if mayo is absorbed by the cotton outer cover?
